Will my mobile phone work in the States?

Yes, if it’s tri-band. You may need to lift any overseas calling bar with your network provider and we advise you make yourself aware of calling costs for making/receiving calls in the States.


How old do you have to be to buy alcohol in Georgia?

The minimum legal age to consume alcohol is 21. You may need to show an ID to enter bars and pubs or buy alcoholic drinks.


Is my driving licence valid in Georgia?

Yes. But remember that all children under 12 must wear a seatbelt and child safety seats are mandatory for children aged three or under. And motorists are required to use headlights when their windscreen wipers are on during inclement weather.


What are the shopping hours?

Generally, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., but they do vary. Most shops are open every day of the year except Christmas Day.


How much should I tip?
